Midwest Maille Jump Ring Specifications
Our jump rings are made using the American Wire Gauge (AWG), also known as Brown & Sharpe (B&S), standard.
All sizes listed refer to the inside diameter (I.D.), measured in millimeters. That measurement matches the size of the mandrel the wire is wrapped around. Think of it as a reliable guide rather than an exact absolute, since a little springback is completely normal when the rings are coiled and cut.
Wire diameter can vary slightly — up to ±0.03 mm (0.0012″) — which is standard in the industry.
And because we’re human (and metal has a mind of its own sometimes!), you might occasionally find a slightly misshapen ring or an end-cut half ring in your bag. No worries I always include extra rings to make sure you have more than enough usable pieces for your project.
If you ever have a question, I’m always happy to help – Diane
