WHEN DID YOU START OFFERING FINISHED JEWELRY?
My love of creating jewelry began when a friend “dragged” me to a Chicago bead show, where I admired the beautiful work of a talented jewelry artist. At the time, I had been searching for a creative outlet, and jewelry felt like the perfect fit. I enrolled in a few simple beading classes and was immediately hooked.
As I began selling my own jewelry designs at art shows, fellow chain maille artists frequently asked when I would start offering my handcrafted jump rings and kits. Their encouragement led to the birth of Midwest Maille.
In July 2020, I combined my DianeMillerDesigns.com website with MidwestMaille.com to bring everything together in one place. You can now find a selection of my finished pieces under the “Finished Jewelry” link, and I will continue adding new designs to that collection.
WHAT IS ARGENTIUM® SILVER?
Argentium® 930 silver is highly tarnish-resistant, making it a favorite among jewelry makers and customers alike. Its lasting sparkle means no polishing is required—an occasional rinse with mild soap and water is all that’s needed to maintain its shine. In fact, its brilliance is so striking that many people mistake it for white gold.
The unique formulation of Argentium® silver enhances the metal’s natural brightness, creating a radiant, lustrous finish that surpasses traditional sterling silver in appearance.
Argentium® 930 silver is also nickel-free, making it a comfortable choice for many individuals with metal sensitivities.
HOW CAN YOUR SILVER PLATE JUMP RINGS BE NON TARNISH?
The wire used to create my non-tarnish silver-plated jump rings begins with 99% pure copper wire that is plated with 99% pure fine silver. A clear protective coating is then applied to help prevent tarnishing. When the jump rings are properly closed, the copper core is completely hidden.
My non-tarnish silver-plated jump rings are not as bright white as my Argentium® silver jump rings. Instead, they feature a clear coating that resists tarnish and gives them a beautiful satin finish. Because of this protective coating, these jump rings should never be tumbled, as tumbling can damage the finish.
While Midwest Maille will continue to specialize in jump rings kits made with Argentium®, I am excited to also offer more affordable alternatives, including non-tarnish silver-plated and colored jump rings.
All jump rings are cut to order and are currently available in:

• Gold-colored enamel
• Colored enameled finishes

HOW WILL YOU SHIP MY ORDER?
All items are shipped via 1st class US Mail. This service includes tracking and delivery confirmation but not insurance. If you wish an alternative method of shipping or would like to add Delivery Confirmation and/or insurance to your package or have your packaged shipped Express Mail, please contact us. We will send you an e-invoice for the services you would like. If you choose not to add insurance, please note that Midwest Maille is not responsible for packages that are lost or damaged in the mail.
Most item will be shipped within 24 – 48 hours, during the business week, M-F, unless otherwise noted.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?
I stand behind my products 100% and will happily replace any jump rings that you find defective within 7 days of purchase.
Please note that ordering the wrong size does not constitute a defect, and incorrectly sized jump rings are nonreturnable. All jump rings are custom cut to order.
If you’ve ordered the wrong size, I’m happy to suggest alternative uses for them.
